Our True North

What is your True North. When everything seems to be falling apart, do you place your security in the Lord or something else?

An F22 Raptor fighter jet costs $350 million. It has some of the most advanced technology known to man.

But if all of its advanced technology failed, the pilot would have a simple liquid filled compass to guide it. It’s set for True North.

You and I live in a nation that has experienced a level of prosperity the world has never seen. We have so much available that in the natural we barely have want for anything.

The question is: like the F22 what do we have spiritually if everything fails. I can assure you it won’t be your 401k, or stock portfolio or your hidden stash of rice and water. It will be your faith in Christ, our True North.

What does scripture say about our True North?

Is Jesus your True North? I’m feedup with hearing about another Christ Follower who is battling depression and anxiety. That is a symptom of worldly responses when the world around us breaks down.

The enemy is cunning and a liar. He works to plant seeds of doubt and hopelessness in an effort to keep us from walking securely in Christ. He works to get us to believe that we need all the security of the world in order to make it. That will leave us and forsake us.

So why do so many in the Church fall for this?
