The Love of God’s Discipline

Jun 14, 2026    Pastor Paul

Discipline isn’t always fun and enjoyable, because isn’t meant to be. It’s meant to bring correction so we can finish our purpose with success and live life to the fullest. God sometimes proves his love for us through is discipline and correction.

The Fathers heart is for us all to walk in our true identity as sons and daughters. For us to walk to walk in His purposes and fulfill His will

Discipline

Proof of Relationship: Far from being rejected, discipline is an active declaration that you are a legitimate child of God. He disciplines you because He is an engaged Father who cares deeply about who you are becoming

Holiness and Transformation: The ultimate goal of correction is to strip away destructive habits and ruts so you can share in God's holiness. It molds your character to reflect the nature of Christ The Fruit of Righteousness: Though the process of discipline is often painful in the moment, it later yields a harvest of righteousness. This produces integrity, better choices, and a life that honors God

Abiding Peace: Being trained by discipline replaces frustration with deep, abiding rest. It allows you to feel secure in knowing you are exactly where God intends you to be, trusting His purposeful hand

Growth and Knowledge: Corrective seasons stretch your faith and strengthen your desire to learn. They protect you from your own self-interest and teach you how to apply divine wisdom to your daily decisions.

Why do some try to avoid Gods discipline or view it incorrectly?

We view love through the incorrect lense. We view love through a worldly “love is love is love”, as opposed to God is Love.

1 John 4:8 “But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”
