Dreams Delayed

Do you have dreams that haven’t come true yet? Do you have dreams from years, maybe decades ago that still haven’t come true? If so, are you still holding on to them by faith believing or giving up on them? Concluding that it must not have been from God, saying that if it was from God it would have come true by now. Especially, since I’m in my 50’s or 60’s are even older. Why would God give me a dream only to make me wait all these years? Didn’t He say in His word that if I abide in Him and Abide in what He says that I can ask anything and it will be granted? John 15:7

So why do some dreams come to pass quickly and others not so much?

Let’s explore the idea of dreams delayed are where they actually delayed.

700 years past from the time the birth of Jesus was foretold and His birth.  Luke 2 details His birth. 

Throughout the bible there are accounts of dreams received but the fruition of those dreams coming to pass all of a sudden.

Isaiah 48:3 speaks to this reality that God will always fulfill His word.

Fulfillment of Promises: God often brings long foretold plans to fruition instantly

Intervetion in hard times: God’s power can immediately break chains and change dire situations

New Beginnings: These moments often mark unexpected shifts, such as the Holy Spirit’s outpouring, which alter the course of history.

So why does it seem that our promises seem to be delayed? 

What are the lessons we have to learn through delays?

Delay is preparation, not denial: God shapes our capacity to handle the blessing before He releases it. 

Trust the Giver over the gift: Waiting shifts our focus from what God can give us to who God is.

Character is refined in secret; Trials test and reveal our hidden motives, purifying our faith.
